ÖKK Prämienrechner

New insurance in just a few clicks.

INfo

ÖKK is one of the leading health insurers in Switzerland. Based in Graubünden, ÖKK has remained true to its roots and has grown steadily. To ensure that this remains the case, it is important that the digital insurance calculator is upgraded to a new level.

To ensure that the hot phase of the annual change of insurances in Switzerland is successful for health insurers, a digital customer journey is essential.

The design was validated, improved and implemented using extensive usability testing. In combination with the new website, the most successful digital campaigns were carried out in the following years.

Approach, problem and solution.

Thanks to the analysed data and user interviews, we identified weak points in the customer journey and took these into account when redesigning the calculator. With the help of a low-fidelity prototype and usability tests, further weaknesses were identified, which were taken into account in the high-fidelity prototype test. One of the biggest problems is that users feel under pressure to provide too much data too early in the process. In addition, many mobile phone users found the views too overwhelming with so many options on offer.

The number of necessary steps was reduced to a minimum. By reducing the initial data input to a minimum, the bounce rate was reduced at an early stage. Information that is important for the context is constantly displayed and options that are not required are only visible on request.
